Matt has practiced for more than 20 years, focusing on real estate transactions, business law, civil litigation, and governance. His work includes managing high-volume collections; negotiating settlements; drafting and enforcing contracts, deeds, and liens; and advising on compliance with zoning and other regulations. He has served as outside general counsel to public entities and as lender’s counsel to financial institutions.

His recognitions include Virginia’s Legal Elite (Virginia Business) in real estate law; Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Star; Coastal Virginia Top Lawyer; and the Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center Award of Achievement.

Originally from Yorktown, Matt now resides in Glen Allen, Virginia. Outside the office, he enjoys golfing, traveling, cooking, and following his daughters’ sports careers.
